Glowing Green Smoothie
Kim Snyder's Glowing Green Smoothie, filled with healthy greens like lettuce and spinach, and sweetened with apples and pears, is a great way to start your day.
Ingredients
- 360 ml (1 ½ cups) water
- 300 g (⅔ pound) romaine lettuce, about 4 cups
- 45 g (1 ½ cups) fresh spinach
- 205 g (3 ) celery stalk
- 120 g (1 medium) apple, cored, halved
- 120 g (1 large) pear, cored, halved
- 110 g (1 medium) banana, peeled
- (½ ) lemon, peeled
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
- Run the Smoothie Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 40-50 seconds, using the tamper to push ingredients toward the blades.
Chef's Notes
- If all ingredients don't fix into the container, simply start the blend and add them through the lid plug opening.

- Blend for 45 seconds or until smooth, using tamper as needed.
Chef's Notes
For more flavor, add cilantro and parsley leaves to this smoothie. If all the ingredients don't fit into the container, start the blend and add additional ingredients through the lid plug while blending.
