Easy Tomato Sauce
As the name implies, this five-ingredient recipe is easy enough to make in a pinch and includes broth, tomatoes, garlic, and fresh herbs.
Ingredients
- 240 ml (1 cup) vegetable stock
- 800 g (2 cans) plum tomatoes
- 100 g (3 ounces) tomato paste
- (2 small) garlic cloves, peeled
- 15 g (1 cup) Italian flat leaf parsley
- (1 teaspoon) salt, optional
- (¼ teaspoon) ground black pepper
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
- Run the Hot Soup Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 5 minutes 45 seconds.
Chef's Notes
Using the canned plum tomatoes gives a robust flavor, if using fresh tomatoes it will have a slightly raw flavor.
