Black Sesame Latte with Honey Matcha Foam

Halloween-themed color meets Asian-inspired flavor in this fun latte that highlights the AER Disc container's foaming capabilities

Black Sesame Latte

Ingredients

  • For the Black Sesame Paste:
  • 150 g (1 cup) black sesame seeds, toasted
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) sesame oil
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) honey
  • (1 teaspoon) kosher salt, optional
  • For the Black Sesame Latte:
  • 720 ml (3 cups) soy milk
  • 50 g (3 Tablespoons) Black Sesame Paste
  • For the Honey Matcha Cold Foam:
  • 120 ml (½ cup) cold skim milk
  • (1 Tablespoon) honey
  • (½ teaspoon) matcha green tea powder

Directions

  1. Place Black Sesame Paste ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  2. Run the Dips & Spreads Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 60 seconds, using the tamper to push ingredients toward the blades.
  3. Transfer sesame paste to a container with a lid for storage, setting aside 3 tablespoons for the latte (more if decorating serving glasses). Store the remaining paste in the refrigerator.Rinse out the blender container.
  4. Place the soy milk and 3 tablespoons of Black Sesame Paste into the Vitamix container and secure the lid.
  5. Run the Hot Soup Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 7 minutes, 30 seconds.
  6. For the Honey Matcha Cold Foam: place skim milk, honey, and matcha into the Aer® Disc container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  7. Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 15 seconds.
  8. Prepare 3 to 4 serving glasses. (Optional: Smear black sesame paste up the insides of each glass for a fun visual.)Pour the Black Sesame Latte into the glasses, leaving an inch of room at the rim of each glass. Carefully spoon or pour the Honey Matcha Cold Foam on top of each latte and garnish with a pinch of black sesame seeds, if desired.
