Hot Apple Cider

What a tasty treat on that chilly fall day. So easy to make, so fun to share - and it takes only minutes!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups (960 ml) water
  • 2 medium (360 g) apple, halved, seeded
  • 1 stick cinnamon, 4" long
  • 4 (60 g) dates [or 1/2 cup golden raisins], pitted

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  2. Run the Hot Soup Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed.  Blend for 5 minutes 45 seconds.

Chef's Notes

  • Adjust the seasoning by adding more or less cinnamon and dates. Try adding a slice of fresh ginger, or a pinch of nutmeg and cloves to the blend to create a more flavorful hot cider.
