Glowing Green Smoothie
Kim Snyder's Glowing Green Smoothie, filled with healthy greens like lettuce and spinach, and sweetened with apples and pears, is a great way to start your day.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups (360 ml) water
- ⅔ pound (300 g) romaine lettuce, about 4 cups
- 1 ½ cups (45 g) fresh spinach
- 3 (205 g) celery stalk
- 1 medium (120 g) apple, cored, halved
- 1 large (120 g) pear, cored, halved
- 1 medium (110 g) banana, peeled
- ½ lemon, peeled
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
- Run the Smoothie Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 40-50 seconds, using the tamper to push ingredients toward the blades.
Chef's Notes
- If all ingredients don't fix into the container, simply start the blend and add them through the lid plug opening.
