Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Peppermint sticks are chopped in the Vitamix machine and then added to a blend of steaming hot chocolate for the perfect fireside beverage.

Ingredients

  • 6 mint candies
  • 2 cups (480 ml) milk [or soy milk]
  • ½ cup (90 g) semisweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup (25 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • whipped cream

Directions

  1. Place peppermint candies into the Vitamix container and secure lid.
  2. Start the blender on its lowest speed and increase to Variable 3. Blend for 5 seconds or until you reach the desired consistency.  Reserve half for garnish.
  3. Place milk, chocolate and cocoa powder into the Vitamix container and secure lid.
  4. Run the Hot Soup Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed.  Blend for 5 minutes 45 seconds.
  5. Pour into coffee mugs and garnish with whipped cream and reserved mint candies.  Serve immediately.
