Berbere Spice Blend
This spice blend has a kick, and will go great with vegetables, fish, chicken and beef.
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons (14 g) coriander seeds
- 4 (10 g) dried red chilies
- 4 allspice berries
- 2 teaspoons fenugreek seeds
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
- ¼ cup (40 g) dried onion flake
- 2 Tablespoons (24 g) dried garlic flake
- ½ cup (80 g) sweet paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon ground turmeric
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container and secure the lid.
- Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 30 seconds or until a fine powder is achieved.

- 1 pinch ground nutmeg

- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container and secure the blade base.
- Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 30 seconds or until a fine powder is achieved.
Chef's Notes
Using the 8 ounce container for spices is great, just blend and store in the same container.
