Winter Fruit Smoothie

Cranberries and apple pie spice turn this smoothie into a holiday celebration. Unlike other holiday treats, this one comes with no regrets.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (240 ml) water
  • 2 (400 g) gala apples [or mild sweet apple], halved, seeded
  • 2 (400 g) d'anjou pears, halved, seeded
  • 6 dates [or 1/4 cup honey, optional], pitted
  • ½ cup (50 g) fresh cranberries
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 2 cups (260 g) ice cubes

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
  2. Run the Smoothie Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 40 –50 seconds, using the tamper to push ingredients toward the blades.
