Marinara Sauce [Food Processor Attachment]
Try this chunkier-style marinara in the Food Processor over roasted vegetables, chicken, or with our Spinach Pasta Dough.
Ingredients
- 1 medium (230 g) yellow onion, peeled, quartered
- 4 garlic cloves, peeled
- 3 Tablespoons (45 ml) extra virgin olive oil, optional
- 2 cans (795 g) whole peeled plum tomatoes, with juice
- ½ cup (16 g) fresh basil leaves, packed
- 3 sprigs fresh oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt, optional
- 1 Tablespoon honey, optional
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Directions
- Fit the Food Processor with the Multi-Use Blade.
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid. Start the machine and process for 30 seconds.
- Move the chopped product to a medium-sized pot over medium-low heat. Simmer for 35-45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Reserve for use.
