Hibiscus Banana Nice Cream
Enjoy a creamy, sweet, zero-waste dessert that pulverizes whole tea leaves and frozen fruit to make a delicious and unique treat.
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons (9 g) loose-leaf hibiscus tea
- ½ cup (125 ml) hot water, for tea brewing
- ½ cup (125 ml) Almond Milk
- ½ pound (227 g) frozen strawberries
- ½ pound (227 g) sliced frozen bananas
Directions
- Add the tea to the hot water and allow to steep for desired time, then place into refrigerator until well chilled.
- Place the tea, leaves and all, into the Vitamix container along with the almond milk and secure the lid.
- Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 20 seconds.
- Stop the machine. Remove lid and add the frozen ingredients, then secure lid.
- Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed, using the tamper to press ingredients toward the blades. In about 30-45 seconds, the sound of the motor will change and four mounds should form. Stop the machine. Do not over mix or melting will occur. Serve immediately.
