Fresh Turmeric Smoothie
This recipe takes hard-to-blend ingredients like raw almonds, pineapple with the core, and root vegetables, pulverizing them into a smooth and creamy beverage.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups (360 ml) water
- ½ cup (75 g) raw almonds
- 1 medium (130 g) orange, peeled
- ½ (415 g) pineapple, peeled, sliced with core (about 3 cups)
- 1 piece (10 g) fresh turmeric, washed
- 1 piece (10 g) fresh ginger root, washed
- 1 large (150 g) banana, peeled
Directions
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
- Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 2 minutes.
Chef's Notes
For a more juice-style smoothie, simply omit the banana. If fresh ginger or turmeric root cannot be found, substitute with 2 teaspoons of dried to replace the fresh.
