In 2017, the walking trail around Vitamix Headquarters was dedicated in memory of the journey Bill Barnard shared with his children. This sign was created by former Vitamix employee, Michael Terepka.

Ruth M. Barnard

Ruth M. Barnard was born in 1913, to Ada E. and Frank C. Pellett. Ruth joined the Vitamix family when she married Bill in 1934. Her home became the company's first test kitchen as she created new recipes and blending techniques. Ruth was very active in the business while also caring for their large family.
